Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana” is a comprehensive part of the National Mission of Sustainable Agriculture’s Soil Health Management (SHM) programme (NMSA). The scheme was intended to Manage soil health.
Launched in 2015, the Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY) is an expanded aspect of the National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture’s Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS), Soil Health Management (SHM) (NMSA).
Following are some of the objectives of the scheme
Promoting certified organic farming as a means of commercial organic production.
Producing agricultural products that will be free of pesticide residue and help promote consumer health.
It will increase farmer revenue and open up new trading opportunities.

Utilising low cost environmentally friendly methods. The goal is to produce agricultural products devoid of chemical and pesticide residue.
Encourage younger people in rural areas to engage in organic farming.
To take the desired assistance of professionals from India’s Public agricultural research systems
To plan at least one cluster demonstration in each village to get going for the organic way
The basic Premise of the scheme is based on the principle of respecting one another by supporting the participatory Guarantee system (PGS), which is a method of organic certification. The scheme is pertinent to the local area and requires the participation of both producers and consumers in the certification process. PGS India operates outside the third-party certification framework.
The programme supports the Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) For India (PGS-India) method of organic certification, which is based on respect for one another, is pertinent to the local area, and requires the Central and State Governments to provide 60:40 of the funding for the programme, respectively. While Union Territories receive 100% of the aid, North Eastern and the Himalayan States receive 90:10 (Centre: State)
