Nidhi: PMKSN is an initiative of the Indian government to provide farmers with basic income assistance of up to Rs. 6,000.
All landholding farmer households will receive a financial benefit of Rs. 6,000 annually, payable in three equal instalments of Rs. 2,000 each, every four months, under the PM-KISAN scheme.
Some of the key features of the scheme are as follows
With 100% backing from the Indian government, the PM Kisan Central Sector Scheme started operating on December 1, 2018.
The beneficiaries’ bank accounts will receive a direct deposit of the money.
All land-holding farmer families will get income assistance of Rs. 6,000 per year in three equal instalments
According to the plan, a family consists of a husband, a wife, and minor children.
By the requirements of the scheme, the State Government and UT administration will identify the farming families that are qualified for support.
Objective and features of the Scheme:
The basic goal of the programme is to give money to all qualifying landowner farmers so they can support their families, keep up with their farming operations, and avoid falling into the hands of moneylenders. At the same time, the PM-KISAN programme also aims to complement farmers by helping them buy a variety of inputs that will ensure good crop health and adequate yields that are in line with expected farm income.
Around 14.5 crore individuals are anticipated to receive expanded PM-KISAN coverage as a result of the programme.
With an estimated cost of Rs. 87,217.50 crores, which the Central Government will pay, seeks to cover about 2 crores more farmers.

To avail of the scheme, one should have an Aadhaar number, bank account number, and mobile number for the (Contact details) to verify as the ability to identify qualified beneficiaries and ineligible claimants will be aided by the use of bank account numbers, Aadhaar, and mobile numbers.
Farmers should be the resident of India.
For social classification, caste certificates for SC/ ST are a must
One should have the details in the land records. Landholdings should be in the name of the farmers.

Who is not included in the scheme?
Following are some of the conditions in the economically higher category that are excluded from this scheme
Institutional landowners are not eligible
Tenant farmers who own leased land are not eligible
Land that is not used for agricultural purposes is ineligible.
Professionals registered with professional organisations, such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and architects, do what they do for a living.
All individuals who paid income tax during the most recent assessment year.
All superannuated or retired pensioners of the aforementioned categories, excluding multitasking staff and Class IV/Group D personnel, whose monthly pension is at least 10,000, are not eligible
Bearers of constitutional positions both past and present.
Former and current members of the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, state legislatures, state legislative councils, mayors of municipal corporations, and chairs of district panchayats.
All officers and employees of Central and State Government Ministries, Offices, and Departments, as well as their field units, Central or State PSEs, Attached Offices, and Autonomous Institutions under the Government, as well as regular employees of Local Bodies (except Multi-Tasking Staff, Class IV, and Group D employees), whether they are currently employed or have retired.
All superannuated/retired pensioners (excluding Multi Tasking Staff, Class IV, and Group D personnel) of the aforementioned categories whose monthly pension is at least Rs. 10,000.
All individuals who paid income taxes in the previous assessment year. Professionals such as doctors, engineers, lawyers, Chartered Accountants, and architects who are registered with professional organisations and actively practising their professions.
